Technical requirements for the repair of fire extinguishers
1. All kinds of fire extinguishers that have been repaired must meet the requirements of the national standard or industry standard of the product.
2. The maintenance unit must conduct a hydrostatic test on the fire extinguisher barrel one by one according to the regulations. In addition, if the fire extinguisher has been used, although it has not reached the specified period, but the visual inspection finds that the barrel body has bumps, and the appearance quality of the weld does not meet the specified requirements, the hydrostatic test should also be carried out. In order to prevent environmental pollution, the fire extinguishing agent in the cylinder should be put into the corresponding storage tank before the hydrostatic test. The hydrostatic test pressure is 1.5 times the design pressure of the fire extinguisher. During the test, there must be no defects affecting the strength such as leakage and macroscopic deformation (residual deformation equal to or greater than 6%).
3. The cylinder that passes the hydrostatic test has a complete decal, but if part of the patent leather falls off, it should be repainted.
4. Cylinders that pass the hydrostatic test (except water-type fire extinguishers) should be dried.
5. The rubber and plastic parts of the fire extinguisher shall not be washed with organic solvents. Deformed, discolored, aged or broken must be replaced.
6. The outer surface of the pressure gauge shall not have deformation, damage and other defects. The display of the pressure value should be normal, otherwise, the pressure gauge should be replaced.
7. If the nozzle has deformation, cracking, damage and other defects, it must be replaced. The dust cover should ensure that the extinguishing agent can fall off or break itself when it is ejected.
8. The thimble must not have defects visible to the naked eye, otherwise, it must be replaced.
9. Sealing parts such as sealing sheets and sealing gaskets must be replaced and meet the sealing requirements. The moisture-proof film of dry chemical fire extinguishers must be replaced and comply with the provisions of Article 2.2.5 of GB 4402.
10. The outlet pipe of the fire extinguisher should not have defects such as bending, blockage, damage and cracks, otherwise, it must be replaced.
11. Carbon dioxide gas storage cylinder (hereinafter referred to as gas storage cylinder).
12. The gas storage cylinder must meet the requirements of Article 6.13 of GB 4351.1-2005 "Portable Fire Extinguishers Part 1: Performance and Structural Requirements" [4].
13. After five years from the date of manufacture, the gas storage cylinder must be subjected to hydrostatic test every three years according to the requirements of paragraph 3.6.2 of GB4351. Those who fail the hydrostatic test must be replaced.
14. Gas storage cylinders that are not stamped in accordance with Article 6.3 of GB4351 "General Technical Conditions for Hand-held Fire Extinguishers" must be replaced.
15. The head is not allowed to have defects such as cracks and thread failure, otherwise it must be replaced.
